Welsh Botanical Folk Art with Harp Music | Heuldro’r Haf : 20 June 26

£72.00

We are very excited that @thatwomanwithplants Esther Williams has agreed to come back and run a series of seasonal screenprinting workshops to share her love of Welsh plants and folklore. Delightfully, Esther is going to play her harp to accompany us on our creative journeys.

Heuldro’r Haf Summer Solstice Screenprinting
Saturday 20 June 2026 • 10am–3pm • Tea and coffee provided, please bring your own lunch • Limited to six participants • £72 per person to include beautiful, botanical inks and papers and a set of wooden poster hangers.

About the workshop…
In this first workshop in the series, Esther will help us to celebrate the summer solstice and the botanical heritage of Cymru. We will draw and print Welsh plants, while learning Welsh plant names, and unearthing botanical tales about the role of herbs in Welsh history and folklore.

You will learn how to create images and expose your own screens. You will learn how to register stencils to create multi-coloured images and how to use a squeegee to print your images onto cotton paper. No screenprinting experience needed, but this workshop will suit adults with some drawing experience.

About Esther…
Esther Williams is a Pembrokeshire based artist and musician whose work celebrates the botanical heritage of Wales. Inspired by the Welsh names for wild plants, she illustrates, photographs, writes and composes work about the folklore, history and mythology contained within the often overlooked weeds at our feet.
