Who are zine clubs for? Here's your opportunity to join like-minded people who have something to say or show. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never made a zine before or are a seasoned zine maker.
What is a zine? A zine is a self published, small circulation, DIY booklet. It can be in any size and format, and any number of pages. Zines are rooted in self expression and foster community while offering a way to inform and entertain the reader. You don’t have to know how to draw or write. You just need a desire to express yourself and connect with other people through your zine.
What are zines about? The content of a zine is often unconventional, personal, or particular to a person's interests and passions and can be poetry, art, stories, cartoons or anything else you can think of. Zines are a creative outlet with no pressure to be neat, tidy or right. They are very accessible and can be messy, rough, photo-copied and black and white or they can be more polished looking. Unlike magazines, their value is not commercial or for profit and they are more likely to be swapped with other zine makers, given away or sold for a nominal amount of money.
If that sounds appealing come along and join a safe and supportive environment for a couple of hours of creative expression and exploration.
No booking needed. Pay card or cash on the day. Look forward to meeting you!
